Most people don't realize how valuable is to keep some powdered milk in the pantry. Powdered milk is very versatile. Food made with powdered milk will have fewer calories and less cholesterol than food made with whole milk. Here are some of my favorite ways to use powdered milk.
Whole Milk - 1cup water, 1/3 cup powdered milk
Evaporated Milk - 1cup water, 2/3cup powdered milk
Whipped Evaporated Milk - 1cup evaporated milk chilled, 2tbsp lemon juice, 1tsp vanilla, 3tbsp sugar. Whip all ingredients until stiff peaks
Sweetened Condensed Milk - 1cup hot water, 1cup sugar, 1cup powdered milk, Blend thoroughly
Buttermilk - 1cup water, 1/3 cup powdered milk, 1tablespoon vinegar or lemon juice
